Local Pack

The local pack is the block of local business listings Google shows near the top of search results for location-based queries, typically a map with three highlighted businesses beneath it. Each entry pulls from a Google Business Profile and shows ratings, hours, and a link to call or get directions.

Why It Matters

It sits above the standard organic results and captures high-intent searchers ready to act. Ranking in these few slots often means more visibility than the number one organic website position.

Common Mistake

Chasing local pack placement while ignoring the profile signals that earn it. Businesses obsess over the map ranking but skip reviews, categories, and completeness, which are exactly what determines who gets shown.
