Service Area Business

A service area business, or SAB, serves customers at their location rather than at a storefront, such as a plumber, mobile detailer, or house cleaner. In Google Business Profile these businesses hide their street address and instead define the cities or regions they travel to serve.

Why It Matters

Setting up as an SAB correctly keeps the profile eligible and honest about coverage, which affects where the business can rank. Misconfiguring it can lead to suspension or lost visibility in the areas that matter.

Common Mistake

Listing a fake or virtual office address to appear present in a city. Google penalizes address gaming, and creating listings for locations without a real presence risks suspension of the whole profile.
